Nani Iro sewing patterns + Paris
Thanks to Jen for the link to the nani iro site, I happened upon a heap of patterns for download. Follow this link and navigate by clicking the pictures or the dates on the top nav (as long as you stay within the sewing section). I want to make the baby bloomers!

And a few of you have asked about Trade Me and Paris. A clue: it’s easy to guess my Trade Me name. And Paris, yes we’re going on holiday to Paris in July. Which is slightly connected to us having a massive clearout… slightly.

This
…is what happens when craft bloggers meet. They buy far too much cake. And then eat it all. (That’s actually a lie, we all had to take some home).

Aunty Polly couldn’t believe her eyes at all the cakes to choose from.

We had fun! Babychops liked playing with Lieveke’s toys. Now she wants a piano xylophone thing.
So nice to meet you Kimberlee and Lies and Emily too :)

Ruby & Sol

One of the best shops in Auckland – run by a very old friend – if you’re in Auckland you must must must visit. It’s full of amazing stuff and it’s actually affordable – such a rarity these days in shops of this ilk. Sherry buys her pieces from all over the place – some of it her daughter Rachel sends over from the UK.
When we first discovered her shop in February we could barely contain our glee – and now Sherry’s got a permanent shop we are very happy indeed. And in case you’re wondering who ‘we’ is, that’s me, Polly and Fay. Fay is Polly’s mum. Maybe this is a story partly about old school friends and being friends with their mums too.
More about Ruby & Sol over at Lovely Shops.

Blog action day – October 15th
An international initiative of bloggers known as “Blog Action Day” has been launched with the aim of uniting thousands of blogging voices, talking about one issue for one day.
This year it’s the environment – something I dreamt about last night. I woke up ready to race off to the Amazon to stop illegal logging. And then thought the better of it – I have a small baby here after all. So I hope in joining Blog Action Day I can help in a small way.

one in ten
The one in ten auctions have begun.

Do go and have a look – find something you like and bid on it if you are able to :) There are some lovely lovely things up for auction and all proceeds go to help Eireann of Ohbara and her family pay her mother’s recent medical bills.

There’s a new Fred in Town
If you haven’t read it over at Yvestown, Fred has appeared on the blogging scene just recently. Hi Fred!
He emailed me a couple of weeks back telling me about his fabric collection and the next day his wonderful blog materialised just brimming with posts!

I am so glad Fred and WordPress have become such good friends.
Which is good because we all NEED to see Fred’s nice things!

Fred sold some of the fabrics in one of her books to Cath Kidston and he’s got a house full of stuff. According to the man himself, Fred is a MAXIMALIST.
In my email I also told him if I was still in the UK I’d be around there in a flash taking photos for the book he should be writing. And taking some of that vintage fabric off his hands if he needed more space in his basement. Yvonne doesn’t know this but I volunteered her as stylist for the book too.
And Fred most definitely needs to write a book. Which in starting a blog I think he’s begun. And a big YAY for that. The world needs more cool dudes like Fred.
